I woke up this morning thinking I was so burnt out that there was no way I could get excited about anything else at this show – wrong again! I attended the session on The Magic of Digital: Collaborative Interaction in Teacher Professional Development, chaired by Wes Fryer, with assistance by a cast of thousands (or at least 6 or 7 others including a video conference from Darrell from Toronto). It was exciting to me to learn about the K12online conference – apparently one has been held online every year since 2004, and we heard ways to use the resources from those presentations for blended live/digital staff developements – using the presentations to start the conversation with our teachers about how to use these in our own classrooms. LAN parties, breakfast discussions – you name it, I can finally see how to get teachers to start discussing how to integrate technology. Wow! I can’t wait to get started with this.
